Good news! Cadillac will unveil the all-new 2015 Cadillac Escalade SUV on October 7. And there is a twist. Indie rock photographer and director Autumn de Wilde produced a series of portraits and a film highlighting the Escalade design process. “I immerse myself in the world of my subjects. I suppose it’s not unlike a method actor’s approach sometimes,” said de Wilde.

Check on this interesting tidbit of Cadillac history. Al Capone, huh? We ain’t mad.

After Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, theSecret Service found themselves in a bind.President Franklin D. Roosevelt was to give his speech to Congress the next day, and although the trip from the White House to Capitol Hill was short, agents weren’t sure how to transport him safely. At the time, Federal Law prohibited buying any cars that cost more than $750, so they would have to get clearance from Congress to do that, and nobody had time for that. One of the Secret Service members, however, remembered that the US Treasury had seized the bulletproof car that mobster Al Capone owned when he was sent to jail in 1931.

Cadillac is a classic … even amongst gangsters. We recently told you about Al Capone’s Caddy and, guess what, Ellsworth “Bumpy” Johnson, the legendary Harlem gangster who was depicted in the movies “The Cotton Club,” “Hoodlum,” and “American Gangster” also tooled around town in a Cadillac. When Mayme Hatcher Johnson, his widow, passed away a few years back, her life story came to light and isn’t it interesting that the North Carolina native was proposed to inside of Bumpy’s Caddy.

The award recognizes an outstanding promotional campaign by a purchaser of green power, and honors companies or organizations that purchase or generate green power and have actively promoted their use of green power internally or externally in an innovative or compelling way. EPA co-sponsors the Green Power Leadership Awards (GPLA) in conjunction with the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS).

BMW fans and golf enthusiasts celebrated Hunter Mahan’s victory hole-in-one shot at the 17th hole during the recent 2013 BMW Championship.

Audiences erupted into applause when the 31-year-old golfer made the stunning play, ultimately pushing him into first place to make him the winner of both the tournament and the proud owner of the recently revealed BMW i3, which isn’t even available to the public yet. Mahan’s overall performance will go down in history because his ace put him one stroke under former world number one golfer Rory McIlroy (NIR).
